Subject matterKelly's paintings and prints in black and white are a prominent portion of his body of work. They make up more of his total creations than any other color combination. In creating canvases in these two most basic colors, and with little to no form, Kelly seeks to experment with how the canvas or paper on which works is viewed. Kelly kept a persistent focus on the dynamic relationships between shape, form and color and with them challenged viewers' conceptions of space.
Physical DescriptionThis vertically oriented print is divided equally into two halves. The upper half is solid black, the lower half is solid white.
