Credit LineGift of Mr. Robert RauschenbergSubject matterThis print was included in a portfolio of work by 30 artists created as part of a fundraising effort for the project, Experiments in Art and Technology. In this print, Chamberlain draws on his interest in using industrial materials and found objects. Chamberlain is perhaps most well-known for working in a "junk art" style in which he created sculptures of crumpled car chassis and paintings with spray paint on found materials. In this print, Chamberlain draws on similar themes, showing a piece of crumpled paper printed on mylar, bringing to mind ideas of consumer consumption, waste and violence.
Physical DescriptionThis print shows a blue, black and white form printed on transparent plastic. The form is roughly ball-shaped, looking like a piece of crumpled paper. There are faint traces of text in the middle of the form and towards the left side.
