Subject matter
A Longquan celadon bowl of the late Southern Song (1127-1279) early Yuan dynasty (1271-1368). The exterior of this bowl was carved to resemble a lotus flower, a popular motif during the Yuan dynasty. Longquan potters would glaze their wares three or four times to acheive a rich surface quality, in this case, a beautiful craqueleur celadon glaze enhances the elegant shape of the bowl.

Physical Description
A conical stoneware bowl on a tall foot ring, the exterior wall fluted, covered in a craqueleur gray-green celadon glaze.
