Subject matter
Two dancers, a male and female, dance to the music of three musicians behind them. All the figures in the print have Covarrubias's characteristic elongated, boneless, curvilinear bodies. This scene is likely from Covarrubias's travels to Cuba which is implied by the figure's dance style and the seaside fort in the background. Covarrubias is a Mexican artist who is remembered for his caricatures and anthropological depictions of cultural activities such as dancing. This is a print from a Covarrubias' gouache painting.

Physical Description
This print shows two figures dancing in front of three musicians by the water with a moon in the sky and reflected in the water. A far away seaside fort is visible in the upper left corner.
