Credit LineGift of Marilyn and Leon SokolSubject matterPrinted in cool grays and earthen shades of browns, blues, and greens, this photograph depicts a view through a rocky channel leading down to a landscape below. The passage forms a frame around the grey-lit world beyond, which is significantly lighter and made of horizontal banks of light blue tones. The silhouetted edge of these rocks creates a u-shape that outlines the lighter negative space, which extends down from the top of the frame to the center. While not visible, the waterfall named in this image is evident through the atomized mist rising up from the river beyond.
Physical DescriptionThis photograph depicts a view looking down through a rocky passage to a mountainous landscape beyond.
