These are <em>jubal</em>, a type of bowl used for serving steamed rice and often also called a <em>sabal</em>. The upper surfaces of the lids of these bowls are decorated with incised lines. Their bases are flat, without feet. The shapes of bowls follow regional characteristics. In northern provinces, rims curve inwards, and bowls are relatively short. In southern provinces, the walls stand almost straight, while bowls themselves are relatively tall.<br />

A nude, muscular man, seen from behind, leans upon his left leg, which is propped on a rock. He grasps a stick for support with his left hand, while bending his torso to the right and looking downward.  The lighting and colors vaguely suggest an outdoor environment.<br />

This sheet is dominated by the head of an old man with a voluminous beard, seen in 3/4 view, with head turned to the figure's left. Grey tones dominate the drawing, and the suggestion of the man's hunched shoulders in the background increases the sense that he is leaning his head towards the viewer.

A six-panel screen with a lacquered black background and illustrations in greens, reds, ochres and pinks. There is a border throughout each panel with red dragons and line decorations. This panel has four women in kimono each holding a different item - flower, vase, bowl and basket. There are two large trees. On the bottom is a green oval vase with pink flowers and green stems. On either side of the vase is a pear and a pepper.

A man dressed as a woman stands under a blue and white fringed drape that reads <em>Kamei no mizu</em>. The man is wearing a orange, blue, and black multi-layered robe with floral bursts on the outer layer. He carries a sword in his belt and holds an open fan in his right hand. His hair is tied back with a white ribbon. He is standing in front of a fence or lattice.<br /><br />
