This hanging scroll depicts three white chrysanthemums. The flowers form a dynamic arc, and were executed with powerful, rapid brushstrokes. The contrast between the thin lines of the petals of the flowers and the dark thick strokes made with the side of the brush suggesting the leaves and stalks of the plants creates the main visual drama of the painting.

This is a painting of chrysanthemums on a two-fold screen. The paper is sprinkled with gold and the flowers are painted in ink and light color. The flowers come out of the corners and edges of the screen and spread into the center of the screen. There is a lot of negative space filled in by the gold in the background. A signature is in the middle followed by two seals. There is a third seal in the center of the other screen.

Pastoral poet Tao Yuanming (372–427) and a boy-servant bearing chrysanthemums on his back are shown. Two pine trees dominate the composition. Tao Yuanming’s forward gaze and slightly hunched posture exhibit his full inner exhilaration when chrysanthemums were collected. The subtle smile on the poet’s face seems also to reflect a moment of transcendence.<br />

<p>The beginning of the 14th century saw a change in inlaid patterns from using both black and white clay to only using white clay, as demonstrated by this bowl. Concentric white circles extend around the upper and lower parts of the inner and outer surfaces, while the inner wall features a chrysanthemum design in three places. Sand is stuck to the foot and the outer base. The bowl is tinged with vivid yellow. Parts of the rim are slightly damaged, but the glaze is finely fused.<br />

This rectangular vase is decorated in one corber with a wheel or foral design carved into the clay. The opening edges of the vase are not straight, but asymmetrical. The natural ash glaze decorates the vase with varyig shades of gray.

​A stoneware flat bottomed plate on a footring with a wide flaring sides and a direct rim.  The base is carved with a chrysanthemum and the sides with a peony meander.  It is covered in a green celadon glaze. This plate is a pair with 2002/2.5.

<p>This octagonal dish is inlaid with a chrysanthemum design with white and black slip on each facet. Its outer base is entirely glazed and has three quartzite spur marks. The inner surface is undecorated but covered in crackles, revealing the gray body. The glaze was oxidized during ring, leaving many areas brown.<br />

<p>This bowl dates from the 14th century when the beauty of the decoration was highly valued more than basic color. It is covered with inlaid designs on both the inner and outer walls. On its inerior rim are inlaid foliage scrolls in white, while the inner wall is decorated with black-and-white inlaid cranes in four places against the background filled with inlaid clouds. At the center of its inner base is also inlaid a chrysanthemum enclircled by a double line, which is then bordered with a row of yeoui-head design. The glaze on the outer surface is poorly fused, and has been entirely repaired.<br />

<p>This cup is similar in appearance to a round pot, with its mouth curving inwards slightly. The glaze has been oxidized, producing brown tints. The outer rim is black inlaid with a fret-patterned band, below which is also inlaid in black with chrysanthemum spray designs in three places. Coarse sand is stuck on the entire foot and outer base. Glaze has owed down to the interior of the cup during ring and has severely peeled off from the mouth and the outer surface in parts, exposing the body.<br />
