;A young man with long hair looks over his shoulder at the viewer through an illusionistically described stone octagonal aperture. A heavy satin cloth cascades from his right shoulder towards the viewer and through the opening. On the near side of this rusicated aperture are the palette, brushes, drawing folio and a book, indentifying the sitter as an artist, the identification further secured by the canvas on an easle seen behind the figure.

A bust-length portrait of a woman faces the viewer.  Her hair is worn high on her head with curls framing her face and a bandeau high on her forehead.  Her dress has a high starched collar and a scarf tied over the bodice.  The drawing is muted in dark chalks with white highlighting on a brown paper.

In this bust-length portrait a man appears in dark robes and a starched white collar. He looks directly at the viewer and holds a rolled up piece of paper. Below the image is a Dutch inscription identifying the sitter as Jan Vos.
