The drawing depicts a pastoral scene in which sheep rest by an antiquated sculpture of a vase on a plinth, and a shepherd wearing drapery approaching with cattle.

Physical Description
This ink and chalk drawing features a lamb laying in the left foreground. In the center is a sculpture of a vase on a plinth with a reservoir at its base, from which another lamb drinks. A third lamb lays in the shadow of the statue. In the background, a human figure approaches the lambs with two cows.
